The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and will keep coach for 2026.
Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.
Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her final two events in 2025 as a result of the illness she has been battling for the last week and a half.
Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover before starting plans for the 2026 season.
These plans will include her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together again next season.
She required blood pressure checks during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.
She again required a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.
She was also playing noticeably restricted in the third set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern during parts of the season.
Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.
She secured twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.
The British number one made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.
Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.
The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in late this year.
The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.
Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
