Esteemed Performer The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
